Penn State University has been a family tradition since 1953. The tradition began with Victoria’s grandparents who graduated from Penn State University with bachelor’s and master’s degrees. The tradition filtered down through generations which led to Victoria finding her happiness at Happy Valley. She entered the College of Health and Human Development with a focus in biobehavioral health. She had a passion for both clinical research and patient care. After receiving her BS in Biobehavioral Health, Victoria decided to pursue her passion for patient care and entered the school of nursing for her BSN. She also participated in Penn State Cheer Club, taking first place at UCA Nationals. Victoria grew up attending PSU football games and tailgates with her parents and grandparents. Through Victoria’s tailgates, she brought many people together who now refer to themselves as a “Penn State family.”
Victoria displayed an immense amount of strength during her journey through life. She was known by all for her vibrant, compassionate, and loving personality. While pursuing her degree, she also helped raise awareness for Alzheimer’s research in memory of her grandfather. She joined the Alzheimer’s team becoming an integral part of fundraising and organizing events.
The tragic, unexpected loss of our beautiful daughter, Victoria, at the age of 30, has been life-altering. As her parents, we have decided to honor her memory and love of Penn State by assisting a student in pursuing his or her academic goals in biobehavioral health.
We have set up the Victoria N. Price Penn State Memorial Scholarship Fund Inc. to support the academic achievement of juniors or seniors majoring in biobehavioral health in the College of Health and Human Development. The student will be chosen by the Penn State Scholarship Committee and we will have the opportunity to join the presentation of the scholarship each spring. We look forward to meeting the students who will receive the scholarship and sharing Victoria’s story with them.
